Dr Christine Foss has a Masters Degree in Sports Medicine from Old Dominion University, a Doctorate in Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College and a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Health Sciences.
Dr Foss has had many experiences treating and rehabilitating athletes as well as non-athletes. Co-owning and establishing Advanced Sports Medicine & Physical Therapy Center as well as Kid’s Therapy Center has been a passion. She worked in the Sports Medicine Department at the University of Notre Dame as well as volunteering at the Olympic Training Camp in Colorado Springs. She has worked along side prominent surgeons in the care and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
Dr Foss is licensed in chiropractic in New Jersey, New York and Florida. She is a member of the New Jersey Chiropractic Association, the American Chiropractic Association as well as the National Athletic Training Association. Although Dr Foss holds a medical degree, her interests in holistic healthcare have kept her practicing soley as a chiropractor at this time.
Dr Foss finds special interest in difficult cases and those patients that have had little success with conventional care.
Chiropractic — Dr. Glenn Foss, Owner
Dr. Foss is licensed in New Jersey, New York, and Florida. He is a member of the American Chiropractic Association as well as the New Jersey Association of Chiropractors.Dr Glenn Foss received his Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Bridgeport where he majored in biology. He graduated from New York Chiropractic College with his Doctorate in Chiropractic. Since that time he has been focused on his private practice. His vision in Advanced Sports medicine & Physical Therapy Center was to establish a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, enabling the patient quicker recovery time from injury.
Dr Foss has particular interest in lumbar disc conditions and treatment protocols for rehabilitation of this condition. He has been a national representative for lumbar decompression therapy . Dr Foss has been a consultant for many physician practices for lumbar decompression protocols.
Physical Therapy — Vincent Johnson, DPT, Cert. MDT, CKTP
Vince is a graduate of Seton Hall University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (which is now Rutgers University). Vince has 11 years of experience as a Physical Therapist, including 5 years as a Director for IvyRehab in Belleville before joining the ADVANCED team in 2014. He is Certified in the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy, a Certified Kinesio-Taping Practitioner, and certified in SPORTSMETRICS for the prevention of ACL injuries. Vince enjoys working with patients to help them recover function and return to sport and activities of daily living.
Physical Therapy— Kelly Battersby, P.T.A.
Kelly has over 15 years experience working in orthopedic and sports medicine clinics, since graduating at the top of her class in 1998. Throughout her years in physical therapy, in addition to treating patients, she previously managed an outpatient clinic as well as acted as the Patient Care Coordinator. Her primary goals have always been to provide excellent quality care and ensure patient satisfaction. She expects physical therapy to be an extremely positive experience for everyone, and strives to create that at all times. Kelly has a genuine concern for patients’ overall well being and hopes not only to help an ‘injury’ feel better, but the person as a whole.
Acupuncture— Arik Cohen MSTOM, L.Ac.
Arik Cohen is a New Jersey licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist. He is certified in Acupuncture, Oriental Medicine, and Chinese Herbology by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Arik received his undergraduate degree from Montclair State University and continued his education at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, where he completed his Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine.
Pediatric Therapy— Gena Lentz, Physical Therapist
Gena Livingston is a licensed pediatric physical therapist who brings seven years of experience to Kids’ Therapy Center. Gena has obtained a diverse background in pediatric care and has worked in a variety of settings including early intervention, private school and pediatric outpatient facilities and has clinical experience in acute care hospitals and the neonatal intensive caire unit. She has treated children with a multitude of developmental, neurological, neuromuscular and orthopedic diagnoses ranging from birth to eighteen years of age.
Gena’s other qualifications are as follows: She is the primary author of a publication of the orthopedic section of the American Physical Therapy Association entitled “Torticollis” and has taken continuing education courses in Neurodevelopmental Treatment, Myofascial Release, Craniosacral Therapy and Strain/ Counterstrain Treatment of the Hypotonic Child and Treatment of the child with Cerebral Palsy. She has recently been certified in the Therasuit Method and is proud to bring Suit Therapy to Kids Therapy Center.
Occupational Therapy — Danielle Colaprico MS, OTR/L
Danielle Colaprico is a licensed occupational therapist and a graduate of The University of Scranton’s Master’s in Occupational Therapy program. Danielle has had clinical experiences in a school, outpatient neurological rehabilitation, outpatient psychiatric rehabilitation, and acute care. Danielle was a co-presenter at the New York Sate Occupational Therapy Association Conference for her graduate work in low vision. Danielle has taken continuing education courses in sensory integration, handwriting, and pediatric vision. She has treated children with a variety of diagnoses including neurological, orthopedic, and developmental diagnoses. Danielle enjoys working with the children and parents in setting goals and creating a treatment plan that best suits each child in order to attain functional outcomes and independence in the child’s activities of daily living.
Physical Therapy- Janelle Giresi PT, DPT, PES
Dr. Janelle Giresi is a graduate of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-Rutgers University where she completed her Doctoral degree with distinction. Janelle received her Bachelor ‘s degree in Exercise Science from Rutgers University and worked with the Athletic Training Department for the Rutgers University Football Program. Her love for sports and athletics lead her to practicing as a physical therapist in outpatient orthopedic settings and now with the Advanced Team. She pursued her certification as a Performance Enhancement Specialist to help athletes return to play safely at an elite level.
Janelle also developed a passion for pediatrics during her clinical training and has treated children with orthopedic, developmental and neurological diagnoses in school-based and outpatient settings. She is thrilled to be a part of the Kids Therapy Center!
Dr Kevin Pavlak is a licensed chiropractor and Certified Athletic Trainer. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Dominican College where he majored in Athletic Training. Kevin continued his education at New York Chiropractic College where he received his Doctorate in Chiropractic degree. His interest in sports and athletics is what drove him to pursue athletic training and chiropractic. Dr. Kevin enjoys working with athletes of all levels and helping them achieve optimal performance. Kevin utilizes a variety of techniques including diversified, instrument assisted soft tissue, and myofascial release just to name a few. He is also a member of The International Chiropractic Pediatric Association and is certified in Webster Technique.
